The Room

In term 2, Week 2 we had to do some flash fiction so I decided to do someone stuck in a dark room. It tells you about a flashback and what he is thinking at the time. We had to use 3 prompts and these were the ones we chose as a class. Music, Chains, Rose.
The Room
Screaming for help, hopelessly I pray to god to free me from this claustrophobic room. Sitting chained to the wall starving away. 3 men walk in and beat me. I start to doze in and out of consciousness. I flashback to the day I gave my wife that red rose. Giving her the rose was one of the best days of my life until tragedy struck. She fell into my arms with unbearable force. I tried to talk to her, but she was not responding. I felt her pulse but there was none.

I went to the hospital every day of the week for the past 3 weeks. Until the doctors said I can stop going to see her. I asked the doctor what he meant and he said ¨she's gone¨. My legs felt like they were going to give way. I suddenly dropped to the ground, all voices sounded blurred as I was still trying to process what had just happened.
I walk home with my head hanging low. My friend Josh asked what happened, but I was too sad and heartbroken to tell him. I lay in my bed sobbing away just thinking of what I was going to do with my life.
I wake up looking around suspiciously. I try to stand up but I had no strength at all. Hopelessly I sit and beg to god to save me and to bring back my wife.

A man walks in and puts a music box on the ground. He starts to play irritating music. I yell at him to turn it off, but all he did was laughed. Why did God have to gift me with this unbearable condition? I always wished to not have misophonia (when you hate loud and annoying sounds). For the past 5 hours, I had to listen to those sounds. I was going mad. By the time I had reached 5 hours and 30 minutes I had enough. I ripped the zip of my jacket and tried to undo the lock hoping it would work. Out of nowhere, the chains slipped right off. I ran to the door and I burst out of the room. I felt pain in my back. I dropped to the ground. Then I saw a vision  I had never seen In a long time.
It was my beautiful wife.

If you saw anything I did wrong please tell me so I can work on it next time. Why did you think he fell on the ground with pain in his back?
